School Daze

I am adding some flair to our school week. Theme days always seem to help me. Monday will still be Mundane Monday where we play catch up on the little things in life and I do house work. Traveling Tuesday will take us to parts of the city to complete our school day. This past week we took all of our work and went to the park. We were there from 10-3. It was a blast. Loved reading our Bible under and old oak tree. Wordless Wednesday means all fun. The kids loved the title, but little do they know, we spent the whole day reading Exodus 1-5 and several books on Ancient Egypt. We mummified a baby doll and made Canopic jars. They had so much fun and never knew they were working. Terrific Thursday has lots of review and rewards. Math facts earn you a skittle or m&m, grammar and spelling tests earn computer/wii time. Daniel is working on a large reward. If he reads 10 books he gets a mini-sand box. Friday is Tutorial!! Then we do it all over again!

Taylor Swift

Our precious neighbor is the drummer for Taylor Swift. He and his wife treated all the girls on our street to her latest concert. The girls all made T-shirts and signs before the concert. The seats were wonderful and Taylor gave each one of them an autographed CD. I know this is a memory Princess will never forget.
The moms that went all said it was the best concert ever. One mom had even seen The Rolling Stones in the 80's. Way to go Taylor!

BB Guns

Does life get any better? Fishing and shooting with Pawpaw. I just love that they are getting a glimpse of my childhood with my Granddaddy. He let me shoot every thing, but we had to eat what we killed. Needless to say I only shot a squirrel once. Grandparents are the best!

Pawpaw and Gee

We love going to the deep South and having fun with Pawpaw. He has the best "grandkid" pond. The fish bite immedately and they are huge! Pawpaw has trained the catfish. His pond can be still as glass and then he starts yellin' and clapping and these huge catfish, hundreds of them, come to the surface. It truly is amazing. I hope to get a video one day.
Our years in the military did not allow us to visit our parents alot. It means the world to me that our kids will have great memories with all of our parents now.

Cleaning a fish with Pawpaw is a great Science lesson!

Hero

My kiddos love their cousin Nick. He is 16 and playing high school football. They loved being able to visit him on the field after the game.
It was great going to a hometown ballgame. I loved seeing friends I hadn't seen in years!

Beach

Like I have stated we love fieldtrips. Who can resist the beach in September!! My brother has a great place in Sea Crest Beach, near Rosemary, on 30A. The kiddos and I spent a week on these pristine beaches. Most of our pics are from the day we went down the road to Seaside.

The kids made lots of friends! We knew any older kids on the beach were homeschooled and this opened the door for easy small talk. We even meet a family that lives right down the road from us!

Celebration

We love to party! Thankfully today it was my Birthday being celebrated. Dearheart helped the kiddos throw a garden party. She makes the best cakes. Grandma and Aunt D took me out to eat and to the movies. My sweetheart even joined in the fun this year and surprised me with lots of goodies. :}

Precious Moments

Anyone who knows my family knows that my Buddy Boy has no tolerance for pain. On this particualr day Buddy Boy was really hurt and his siblings came to his rescue. Mama had sent him to is room to calm down but Murphy and Princess made him breakfast in bed and brought him the protable DVD player. I was very blessed! As you can tell by his smile, so was he!

US Space & Rocket Center

Our favorite part of homeschooling is the fieldtrips. We love going places, especially with friends! The exhibits here were great. Very hands on and interactive. The kiddos loved the fair type rides that demonstrated force and gravity.

Finally Blogging

I have finally decided that I am never going to get around to scrapbooking. So, in order to have memories for my kiddos archived, I am going to atttempt blogging about our school days. I have also found lots of encouragement in my friend's blogs. Many people have asked me several homeschooling questions and this will be a fun place to let them "see" how we do it.
